Title: Data Modeler
Description: This position requires a modeler who can create, maintain, and
communicate domain (UML), logical data models, and physical models to
both internal team members as well as business customers. Familiarity
with multi tiered architectures and the flow of information across all
layers of the architecture is extremely helpful in working in an
enterprise strategic group that provides data focused web services to
many applications and touch points. The candidate must be able to create
and review deliverables including domain models in UML, data quality
assessments of the source data, logical data models, and physical data
models. Additional consulting is required to support testing efforts
with data manipulation scenarios and communicating data concepts to
object oriented development staff.

Required Qualifications: The successful candidate will have:
• Experience developing UML Class Diagrams and translating those to
Logical / Physical Entity Relationship models
• Experience facilitating requirements gathering meetings to extract
data related requirements
• Hands on proficiency with a modeling tool (Embarcadero ER/Studio,
Erwin, IBM Data Architect, Powerdesigner, etc)
• Experience in full lifecycle development, including Use Case
requirements methodology
• Ability to profile an existing database using SQL to understand data
inconsistencies and issues
• Experience designing and developing logical and physical data models
• Background in implementing and using naming standards to apply
consistency to models
• Ability to recommend solutions on metadata management across multiple
modeling tools and repositories
• Ability to evaluate DDL for completeness and accuracy before
submission to a DBA
• Experience in supporting a master data management application is
desired but not required
• Ability to develop models in an iterative and collaborate development
environment that includes frequent review and feedback
• Must have excellent written and oral communications skills,
professional presentation skills, self-starter, cooperative attitude,
team player
